Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 15, 2026
Forgo ("we," "us," or "our") helps you pause before you regret a purchase. We take your privacy — and especially your financial data — seriously. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Account information. Your email address, used to create and secure your account and to send you account-related messages.
- Financial data (via Plaid). When you connect a bank or card, we use Plaid to securely access information such as account balances, transactions, account names, and account types. We never see or store your bank login credentials — those go directly to Plaid.
- Information you enter. Income, fixed expenses, debts, savings goals, and similar details you add to personalize the app.
- Usage and device data. We use PostHog to understand how the app is used (screens viewed, features tapped, crashes). This may include device type, app version, and a random identifier — but not your bank credentials.
How we use your information
- To provide the core product: detecting high-risk spending moments and nudging you before you buy.
- To show your spending patterns, balances, and progress toward your goals.
- To maintain, secure, and improve the app.
- To communicate with you about your account and important updates.
How we share your information
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers that make Forgo work:
- Plaid — to securely connect your financial accounts.
- Supabase — our backend host, where your account and app data are stored.
- PostHog — product analytics, as described above.
- Legal — if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of Forgo and its users.
How your data is stored and secured
Your data is stored on Supabase's secured infrastructure and transmitted over encrypted connections. On your device, Forgo can lock access behind Face ID. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information using industry-standard safeguards.
Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your personal and financial data from our systems, except where we are required to retain it by law.
Your rights and choices
- Access or correct the information in your account at any time inside the app.
- Disconnect a linked bank or card to stop new financial data from being collected.
- Delete your account and data — email us at hello@forgoapp.com and we will permanently delete your account and associated data.
Children's privacy
Forgo is not intended for anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app or by email.
